Abstract:
Augmented Reality (AR) has enhanced orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning by providing three-dimensional visualization of two-dimensional structures. Use of AR in orthodontics has been explored in placement of brackets, mini-implants, and surgical orthodontic procedures. Integration of AR can help in achieving greater accuracy and improved treatment outcomes. Although, high costs, software integration, technical complexity, and need for specialized training limits the routine use of AR, it shows promising future in distance learning, tele-orthodontics, and simulation-based education.
