Psychological flexibility is considered an important mechanism in promoting mental-health. This study used network analysis to examine associations between the six ACT flexibility processes and mental health-related quality of life. The study included 157 psychiatric patients. A baseline and a change-score network were estimated using the R package "bootnet."The processes Values and Defusion showed high centrality in both networks; Defusion was also most strongly associated with mental health-related quality of life. The strong link between Defusion and mental health-related quality of life in both networks suggests that processes closely related to mental health at the beginning of treatment may also be relevant for change over time. Improving Defusion could help enhance mental health.
