Background:

  • Sepsis and multiorgan dysfunction syndrome (MODS) are significant global health challenges.
  • The Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) score is a standard measure for assessing illness severity.
  • The Systemic Inflammatory Response Index (SIRI), derived from absolute neutrophil, lymphocyte, and monocyte counts, is a novel composite biomarker for sepsis.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the Systemic Inflammatory Response Index (SIRI) in male and female sepsis patients.
  • To analyze the association between SIRI and SOFA scores upon patient admission.

Main Methods:

  • Retrospective analysis of 2008 adult sepsis patients meeting Sepsis-3 criteria.
