Endoscopic closure devices have advanced significantly, providing effective, minimally invasive solutions for managing gastrointestinal defects and bleeding. Key devices include through-the-scope clips, over-the-scope (OTSC) clips, suturing systems such as OverStitch Endoscopic Suturing System (Boston Scientific Corporation, Marlborough, MA, USA) and X-Tack Endoscopic HeliX Tacking System (Boston Scientific Corporation), and tissue adhesives. Each device offers unique strengths for specific lesion types, with OTSC clips excelling in larger defects, and suturing systems offering durability in complex closures. Cost-effectiveness varies but generally favors devices reducing surgical interventions. Complication rates are low when appropriate devices and techniques are used.
