[Diagnostic management of a drug allergic reaction]

The diagnostic management of drug-induced allergic reactions is based on a structured approach combining medical history, clinical examination, chronological analysis of treatments, and targeted allergological tests. The aim is to identify the responsible drug in order to allow selective avoidance while preventing unnecessary therapeutic exclusions. Skin tests and in vitro assays show variable sensitivity and specificity depending on the molecule and the clinical phenotype, and no single test can confirm causality on its own. The drug provocation test remains the gold standard but must be performed with caution because of its risks, particularly in severe reactions. A multidisciplinary and individualized approach remains essential to ensure patient safety.
