Insights
The Child Care Quality at Hospital (CCQH) instrument is valid and reliable for assessing hospital care quality from a child
Area of Science:
- Pediatric Nursing
- Healthcare Quality Assessment
- Psychometrics
Background:
- Assessing healthcare quality is crucial for patient outcomes.
- The Child Care Quality at Hospital (CCQH) instrument measures care quality from a child's perspective.
- Validation of the CCQH instrument in diverse populations is necessary.
Purpose of the Study:
- To evaluate the validity and reliability of the Child Care Quality at Hospital (CCQH) instrument.
- To adapt and validate the CCQH instrument for use in the Turkish population.
Main Methods:
- Methodological study design.
- Language and content validity assessments.
- Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) for construct validity.
- Cronbach's alpha, item-total correlations, and Hotelling T² test for reliability.
Main Results:
- The Turkish version of the CCQH instrument demonstrated strong validity and reliability.
- High Cronbach's alpha coefficients and item-total correlations confirmed internal consistency.
- Content validity index indicated good content and face validity.
- CFA results supported an acceptable model fit for the CCQH instrument.
Conclusions:
- The Turkish CCQH instrument is a valid and reliable tool.
- It effectively measures hospital care quality from the perspective of school-aged children.
- This validated instrument can be used in Turkish pediatric healthcare settings.
Aims:
This study aimed to investigate the validity and reliability of the Child Care Quality at Hospital (CCQH) instrument in the Turkish population.
Design:
This was a methodological study to test the validity and reliability of the instrument.
Methods:
To measure the validity of the CCQH instrument, language and content validity and confirmatory factor analysis were performed. Cronbach's alpha coefficient, item-total score correlations and Hotelling T2 test were used to examine reliability.
Results:
The analyses demonstrate that the Turkish form of the CCQH instrument is valid and reliable. Cronbach's alpha coefficient and item-total score correlations indicated strong internal reliability. The content validity index showed that the Turkish version of the scale had content and face validity. All fit indices in confirmatory factor analysis met the expected criteria, demonstrating an acceptable model fit.
Conclusion:
CCQH is an instrument that evaluates the quality of care from the child's perspective in school-aged children during hospitalization.
