[Chopart and Lisfranc sprains : don't miss them]

Midfoot sprains are frequent injuries but remain largely under-recognized, often mistakenly attributed to a simple ankle sprain. Diagnosis is challenged by the nonspecific clinical presentation, the anatomical complexity of the midfoot, and the limited sensitivity of conventional imaging. This article summarizes the functional anatomy of the midfoot, the injury mechanisms specific to its various articulations, and the clinical and radiologic features that may guide diagnosis. In the acute setting, CT scan is the imaging modality of choice. Improved identification of these injuries is essential to prevent long-term functional sequelae.
