Validity and Reliability of the Turkish Translation of the Nurses' Well-Being at Work Scale

The aim of this study was to adapt the Nurses' Well-Being at Work Scale (NWB-Scale) into Turkish and to evaluate its psychometric properties among nurses working in Türkiye.

This methodological study included 544 nurses. Data were collected using a Sociodemographic Information Form and the Turkish translated and culturally adapted version of the NWB-Scale. Content validity was assessed using the Content Validity Index, and construct validity was examined through confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Reliability was evaluated using Cronbach's alpha, composite reliability (CR) and average variance extracted (AVE), as well as test-retest analysis. Correlations between sub-dimensions were also examined.

All items demonstrated strong content validity (CVI > 0.80). CFA supported the original 12-factor structure with acceptable model fit. Cronbach's alpha coefficients ranged from 0.87 to 0.97, CR values from 0.873 to 0.968 and AVE values from 0.531 to 0.910, indicating strong reliability and adequate convergent validity. Test-retest results showed strong temporal stability. Significant correlations supported the multidimensional structure of the scale.

The Turkish version of the NWB-Scale demonstrates satisfactory validity and reliability and can be used as a comprehensive and multidimensional instrument to assess nurses' work-related well-being in both research and clinical practice in Türkiye.
