Relationship Between Pyuria and Bacteriuria in Suspected Cases of Urinary Tract Infection

Pyuria (pus in urine) and bacteriuria (bacteria in urine) do not always correlate in suspected urinary tract infections. However, higher pus cell counts increase the likelihood of a positive urine culture.
