The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) has generated considerable expectations for improving stroke management. In this work, we present current AI applications for stroke prevention, triage, and treatment selection during the acute phase. We then discuss the potential value of AI in predicting neurological recovery. Currently, only the detection of atrial fibrillation and the identification of large-vessel occlusions on brain imaging have been validated. Nevertheless, recent advances are opening up new perspectives for using AI algorithms in stroke care.
