[Assessment of disorders presented by sexually abused children]

Children who are victims of sexual abuse may exhibit a wide range of disorders, both in terms of their manifestations and the time it takes for them to appear. The consequences can be manifold and have severe repercussions on their psychomotor development, or even major consequences on the health of adult victims in their childhood. This article, based on the author's clinical experience and a review of the literature, highlights the consequences of sexual abuse on children and the difficulties in identifying it. It describes the multiple psychological and physical consequences in the lives of children who suffer abuse. It proposes an assessment focused on identifying specific, non-specific, and suggestive disorders associated with sexual abuse.
