Abstract:
Objective: To understand the changes in radiation intensity of new ultraviolet disinfection lamps at different temperatures. Methods: Non-polar UV disinfection lamps, light-emitting diode (LED) UV disinfection lamps, 222 nm UV disinfection lamps, and general UV disinfection lamps were respectively placed at different ambient temperatures, including 20-25 ℃, 4 ℃, -20 ℃ and -40 ℃. At a vertical distance of 15 cm below the center of the UV disinfection lamp, the radiation intensity spectrum was recorded with the spectrometer every 5 minutes for a total of 30 minutes. Results: The radiation intensity of the non-polar UV disinfection lamp significantly decreased as the ambient temperature declined, with a reduction range of 10.65% to 77.58%. At room temperature, 4 ℃, and -20 ℃, the radiation intensity increased with the extension of the lighting time, with an increase of 28.66% to 85.41% compared to when the lights were turned on. However, at -40 ℃, it generally showed a downward trend, with a variation range of -8.06% to 24.53%. The radiation intensity of the LED UV disinfection lamp increased as the ambient temperature declined, with an increase range of 5.40% to 35.53%. At the four ambient temperatures, the radiation intensity decreased slightly with the extension of the lighting time, and the degree of reduction became smaller as the ambient temperature declined. The radiation intensity of the 222 nm UV disinfection lamp increased in low-temperature environments instead, with an increase range of 9.03% to 32.33%. At the four ambient temperatures, the radiation intensity remained relatively stable with the extension of the lighting time, with a variation range of only -2.87% to 8.27%. The radiation intensity of the general UV disinfection lamp decreased significantly as the ambient temperature declined, with a reduction range of 43.92% to 91.54%. At room temperature, 4 ℃, and -20 ℃, the radiation intensity increased significantly with the extension of the lighting time within the first 5 minutes and then stabilized. However, at -40 ℃, it generally showed a downward trend, with a variation range of -25.00% to 5.95%. Conclusion: New UV disinfection lamps vary in their radiation intensity characteristics. The radiation intensity of the non-polar UV disinfection lamp is greatly affected by low temperatures, but the radiation intensity of the LED UV disinfection lamp and the 222 nm UV disinfection lamp increases in low-temperature environments instead.
