Medicinal plants constitute a crucial reservoir of natural antiviral compounds. Efficient isolation and molecular structure determination are essential for advancing their utilization. This chapter delineates principal methods for purifying antiviral compounds from medicinal plants and elucidating unknown molecular structures, supplemented with representative research examples. Additionally, a general methodology for evaluating antiviral activity against plant viruses is presented to expedite compound identification and purification. The integrated approaches and insights provide a valuable framework for the discovery of natural antiviral compounds from botanical sources.
