Arrhythmias in the cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) can be difficult to manage because of the complex hemodynamic and respiratory states of critically ill patients. Treating physicians must be educated to prevent, diagnose, and treat a multitude of tachyarrhythmias and bradyarrhythmias.
