Climate change presents new challenges to dermatologic care, ranging from anthropogenic factors, such as pollution that select for extremotolerant and potentially antifungal-resistant fungi, to biogenic factors that can drive zoonotic outbreaks, which have received increased attention since the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Through this lens, we examine the evolution of dermatophytic fungi.
