Abstract:
This study highlights the increasing use of mediastinal MRI in the evaluation of anterior mediastinal masses. MRI is superior to CT in its capacity to differentiate between cystic and non-cystic lesions, assess tissue components, and determine the direct invasion into adjacent structures. The high contrast-resolution and diverse sequences of MRI offer in-depth insights, facilitating precise diagnoses of anterior mediastinal masses and effective management strategies for anterior mediastinal cystic lesions. This minimizes the need for unwarranted surgeries and significantly enhances patient care outcomes.
