Summary

A novel microcatheter-guide extension system safely delivered a scoring balloon to a challenging left internal mammary artery (LIMA) graft lesion. This technique protects the LIMA graft during complex percutaneous coronary intervention.

Area of Science:

  • Cardiovascular Medicine
  • Interventional Cardiology
  • Vascular Surgery

Background:

  • Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) of the left internal mammary artery (LIMA) graft is complex.
  • Specialty balloon delivery poses a risk of LIMA graft injury.
