The facile construction of C(sp3)-O bonds plays a critically important role in organic synthesis. Herein, we report a visible-light-mediated decarboxylative C(sp3)-O bond formation reaction under metal- and base- and additive-free conditions with irradiation. This protocol is characterized by its broad substrate compatibility and operational simplicity. Meanwhile, the potential applications of this operationally simple and general methodology in synthetic chemistry have been demonstrated by the late-stage functionalization of bioactive molecules and subsequent modifications of TEMPO derivatives.
