We report a periphery fusion strategy for high-affinity anion receptors. This structural locking provides a rigid preorganized cavity and further polarized inward C-H bonds induced by extended π-delocalization. Consequently, the fused macrocycle HC1 exhibits exceptional Br- and I- affinity, reaching 2.4 × 1010 and 2.1 × 1011 M-2, respectively.
