Abstract:
Four new limonoids, designated xylomoluccenoids A-D (1-4), together with six known compounds (5-10), were isolated from the leaves of the mangrove plant Xylocarpus moluccensis. The structures and absolute configurations of the new metabolites were elucidated through extensive HRESIMS and NMR spectroscopic analyses, supported by quantum chemical calculations of their NMR chemical shifts and UV/ECD spectra. Biological evaluation revealed that compounds 1, 2, and 5 possess weak cytotoxic activity, while compounds 5-10 displayed weak antimicrobial activity against the tested bacterial and fungal strains.
