Midlife women, particularly during the menopausal transition, experience heightened vulnerability to sleep and circadian health disturbances. These disruptions are driven by hormonal changes, vasomotor symptoms, psychosocial stress, and aging-related factors. Poor sleep and circadian health are linked to an increased risk for cardiovascular disease, metabolic dysfunction, and cognitive performance decrements. Evidence-based interventions include hormone therapy, selective pharmacologic treatments, and nonpharmacologic approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy for insomnia, exercise, and mindfulness. Targeting both sleep and circadian domains may improve midlife women's health trajectories and support healthy aging.
