This article presents a clinical analysis of the first two sessions of interactive guidance therapy conducted with a mother diagnosed with complex post-traumatic stress disorder. Using a clinical case study, it demonstrates how the child's everyday behaviors can reactivate the mother's traumatic experiences and influence mother-child interactions at an early stage. Interactive guidance appears to be a relevant approach for making these dynamics visible in the here and now, supporting parental emotional regulation, and fostering maternal sensitivity. The text also examines the limitations of this approach when dealing with complex trauma and emphasizes the need to integrate it with other therapeutic approaches.
