[Interactive Guidance Therapy: framework and clinical issues]

Interactive Guidance Therapy (IGT) is a brief, focused, and scientifically validated intervention that addresses parent-child relationship disorders. Video-recorded parent-child interactions allow for the sequential observation, analysis, and selection of clips, which are then viewed with the parent. The therapeutic work draws on existing resources to develop dyadic regulation and parental sensitivity, and to promote interactive behaviors appropriate to the child's needs. IGT draws on several theoretical models, particularly those from developmental psychology, systemic theories, and interactionist models. This intervention is used across all ages, from birth through adolescence, and is particularly relevant for traumatized parents.
