Abstract:
Arthrodesis of the ankle and hindfoot represents an established surgical procedure for the treatment of advanced osteoarthritis. In addition to open surgical techniques, minimally invasive and arthroscopically assisted procedures have become increasingly established in recent years. The aim of this review article is to describe minimally invasive arthrodesis techniques of the ankle and hindfoot. Indications and contraindications, surgical techniques, postoperative management, as well as clinical outcomes and potential complications are systematically discussed.
