A novel Human Leukocyte Antigen C (HLA-C) allele, HLA-C*07:1268, has been identified. This new allele is distinguished from HLA-C*07:02:01:01 by a single nucleotide substitution within exon 3.
Area of Science:
- Immunogenetics
- Molecular biology
Background:
- The Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) system plays a critical role in immune response and transplantation.
- Polymorphisms within HLA genes, particularly HLA-C, contribute to diverse immune profiles.
