Protocol for culturing porcine retinal explants and RNA isolation

The culture of porcine retinal explants serves as a valuable cellular model for studying retinal pathologies and their underlying molecular mechanisms. Here, we present a protocol for culturing porcine retinal explants, isolating RNA, and RNA sequencing. We describe steps for dissecting the eye, isolating the retina, and culturing primary porcine retinal explants for extended periods. Additionally, we outline procedures for RNA isolation and sequencing from cultured retinal explants, enabling molecular analysis of retinal biology.
