The synergy of dendritic morphology and electronic structure modulation in PdPb nanodendrites for enhanced alcohol
Abstract:
Developing highly active and durable electrocatalysts requires the simultaneous optimization of active-site accessibility and electronic structure in alcohol oxidation. Benefiting from the synergistic effects of dendritic structural engineering and electronic structure modulation, the synthesized PdPb nanodendrites with a flower-like porous architecture deliver remarkable activity and stability toward the ethanol and methanol oxidation reactions.

π Electron Effects on Chemical Shift: Overview
An applied magnetic field causes loosely bound π-electrons in organic molecules to circulate, producing a local or induced diamagnetic field over a large spatial volume. As the molecules tumble in solution, the field generated by π-electrons in spherical substituents results in a zero net field. However, the net field generated by π-electrons in non-spherical substituents is not zero. The effect of this induced field depends on the orientation of the molecule with respect to B0, resulting in...
Vicinal Diols via Reductive Coupling of Aldehydes or Ketones: Pinacol Coupling Overview
Wilhelm Rudolph Fittig discovered the pinacol coupling reaction in 1859. It is a radical dimerization reaction and involves the reductive coupling of aldehydes or ketones in the presence of hydrocarbon solvent to yield vicinal diols.
