Abstract:
Allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis is a chronic inflammatory pulmonary disorder characterized by type I and III hypersensitivity reactions to Aspergillus fumigatus in the airways of patients with asthma or cystic fibrosis. However, other filamentous fungi can cause similar pathophysiological changes, a condition referred to as allergic bronchopulmonary mycosis (ABPM). Data on ABPM involving non-Aspergillus fungi remain limited. To the best of our knowledge, we present the first case of ABPM associated with Talaromyces boninensis. The patient met the diagnostic criteria proposed by the Japan ABPM Research Program, and T. boninensis was isolated from bronchial lavage fluid and identified by molecular analysis.

Causative Organism
The primary infectious agent causing tuberculosis is Mycobacterium tuberculosis, a slow-growing, acid-fast, aerobic rod that exhibits sensitivity to heat and ultraviolet light. Instances of Mycobacterium bovis and Mycobacterium avium contributing to the development of TB infection are rare.
