Abstract:
Medical errors are prevalent among new graduate registered nurses, with research suggesting that a low proportion of novice nurses meet acceptable competency standards. Novice nurses often struggle with the clinical judgment skills essential for safe practice. Nursing education faces challenges in providing meaningful clinical learning opportunities amidst staff shortages and high patient acuity. Traditional educational methods may fall short in effectively developing these competencies. This article explores a learning activity designed to enhance engagement, knowledge retention, and the development of clinical judgment skills through game-like elements and competition-driven teaching strategies.
