Abstract:
Caring actions by educators lead to improved student outcomes and success. Despite wide use of online education, educators' caring actions in online classrooms have been minimally evaluated. It is important to understand students' perspectives of caring actions to implement actions that are relevant and wanted. This study utilized an interpretive descriptive design. Four themes emerged that fit well with the theory of human becoming: human connection, caring communication, supportive transcendence, and professional cocreation. Educators can readily deliver caring actions within online classrooms and thereby facilitate the development of confident, competent nurses.
