Abstract:
A pair of Co-salen based conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs), designated as CMP-Ch@Co and CMP-Ph@Co, have been designed and optimized for heterogeneous photocatalytic reduction of CO2 to syngas under visible light irradiation, where CMP-Ph@Co delivered 3.3 mmol g-1 of syngas in semi-aqueous media within 1 h with a CO/H2 ratio of 1.5 : 1 (v/v). The enhanced photocatalytic activity is driven by the stabilization of Co(III) ions at the ONNO tetradentate donor site of the salen backbone within the CMPs, offering new structure-property insights, which are critical for the rational design of advanced photocatalysts.
