Abstract:
Fibro-osseous pseudotumor is a rare, benign periosteal reactive pseudotumor-like soft tissue lesion. It lacks specific imaging features and is highly susceptible to misdiagnosis as a malignancy. Previously, it has been predominantly reported by MR and CT examinations. Herein, we report the preoperative fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography-computed tomography (¹⁸F-FDG PET/CT) of a fibro-osseous pseudotumor located in the first metatarsal of the right foot in a 41-year-old woman. Despite being a benign lesion, the mass still exhibits increased metabolic activity. During a 4-year follow-up period, no recurrence or metastasis was observed in this patient.
