Abstract:
Data entry is eating up more of the workflow for clinicians who work in rural health facilities. If the clinician needs to enter data, it limits the amount of face-to-face time available with patients at the bedside, causing a breakdown in the doctor-patient relationship and putting patient safety at risk. In order to protect rural patients, healthcare systems must urgently change their administrative workflow policies and hire scribes.
