[Intravitreal gas injection in the management of selected retinal detachment (author's transl)]
Abstract:
Intraocular gas injection with cryotherapy is recommended in the management of selected retinal detachments. This approach is indicated in the presence of: 1) Very posterior breaks close to the macula or optic nerve. 2) Giant horseshoe tears or giant tears with mobile flaps and 3) difficult conjunctiva-sclera situations in the area overlying the break. Case reports of 5 patients are presented.
