    Background:

    • T lymphocytes play a crucial role in adaptive immunity.
    • Human leukocyte antigen (HLA) molecules are key in immune recognition.
    • Class II HLA antigens are primarily involved in presenting extracellular antigens to T helper cells.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the specificity of cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) clones against HLA class II antigens.
    • To determine if CTL specificity correlates with T lymphocyte-defined (LD) determinants.
    • To characterize the phenotype and functional activity of anti-HLA class II CTL clones.

    • Derivation of T lymphocyte clones from mixed lymphocyte culture (MLC).
