Assessing rubella immunity in women of childbearing age using hemagglutination inhibition (HI) and hemolysis in gel (HIG) tests revealed limitations. Sensitizing antibody (SA) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) proved more sensitive for evaluating immunity and vaccine response.
