    Summary

    Rat pancreatic islet homogenates contain phospholipase A2, which produces labelled oleate and lysophosphatidylcholine. This enzyme is activated by calcium ions and inhibited by mepacrine, with no change in activity between glucose-deprived and stimulated islets.
