Abstract:
The composition of fatty acids was studied in ten species of the Actinomyces genus. All the cultures contained C12--C18 acids. Saturated branched acids prevailed. The fatty acid composition of the cultures Act. olivaceus and Act. violaceoruber changed in the course of their growth in the conditions of submerged cultivation. In the stationary phase of growth, the coefficient of branching increased upto three times as compared to the period of active growth. The content of saturated branched fatty acids increased upon addition of CoCl2.6H2O.
