Lecithin-sphingomyelin ratio in fetal membranes during gestation

In this study L/S ratio in fetal tissues during gestation is measured in order to investigate possible correlation with known amniotic fluid L/S patterns. No increase in the mean ratio was detected; no difference was noted in the L/S ratio between membranes collected before and after labor. No correlation is found between L/S ratio patterns in fetal membranes and fetal gestational age.
