    Background:

    • Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a chronic inflammatory disease primarily affecting the axial skeleton.
    • The role of immune complexes in the pathogenesis of AS remains incompletely understood.
    • Complement system activation is implicated in various autoimmune and inflammatory conditions.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the presence and significance of circulating immune complexes in patients with ankylosing spondylitis.
    • To determine if immune complexes correlate with disease activity or specific clinical features of AS.

    Main Methods:

    • EDTA plasma samples were collected from 13 patients diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis.
    • Plasma samples were fractionated using Sephadex G-200 chromatography.
