Abstract:
The normal anatomy of the shoulder is reviewed. The clinical presentation and management of the major categories of shoulder pathology are briefly outlined. The most common imaging methods used in the evaluation of shoulder pain are presented. The strengths and limitations of radiography, arthrography, computed tomography, sonography, and magnetic resonance imaging are reviewed. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of using arthroscopy as the major diagnostic tool are discussed.
