Background:

Endosseous implants are increasingly used for dental reconstruction in edentulous patients.
The posterior maxilla presents challenges for implant placement due to poor bone quality and proximity to the maxillary sinus.

Observation:

Innovative grafting procedures using various materials enable implant placement in resorbed maxillae.
These techniques can disrupt the maxillary sinus's anatomy and physiology.
Eight cases of complications after maxillary sinus augmentation and endosseous implant reconstruction are presented.

Findings:

Complications arose following maxillary sinus augmentation and reconstruction with endosseous implants.
The study details adverse outcomes in eight patients undergoing these procedures.
