Periodontal management and root extrusion of traumatized teeth

Traumatically induced coronal fractures frequently extend below the free gingival margin. Diagnostic criteria are presented to differentiate those for which crown lengthening alone is appropriate from those that also require orthodontic extrusion. A simplified crown-lengthening technique is described for the exposure of a fracture margin.
