[Further comment on the problem of first-time delivery at an age over 30]

The authors concentrate on operative delivery--caesarean section, vacuum extraction and forceps of primiparous women over 30 years of age. Patients are divided in three groups by age--up to 29 years, 30-34 years and over 35. The data from 1992 is compared to already known results concerning the period 1983-1989. A rise in the percentage of caesarean section in the third group--over 35 up to 47.60% is found. The authors point that this is a result of usually unnecessary assurance in connection with age. There is no change in the operative delivery rate in the other two groups. The authors propose further discussion on the problem.
