Abstract:
Sexual harassment has been discussed in the media and in professional and trade publications. However, it has been ignored almost entirely in nursing literature. The definition of what constitutes sexual harassment, a description of the history of sexual harassment legislation, and measures that should be taken by hospitals and nursing administrators are given. This article helps nurse administrators understand potential problems and establish an employment climate for prevention and intervention.
