Abstract:
Both the patient and physician must understand that there is no single cure for interstitial cystitis, nor is there a single treatment that is effective in reducing symptoms for every patient. Most patients, however, can benefit from one treatment or another, or from a combination of treatments. The author's general philosophy about the treatment of interstitial cystitis is described, and other theoretical modalities of treatment are discussed.
