Abstract:
STD prevention should be taught in the home and in schools before sexual activity commences. Counselling has a major public health role and the crucial importance of the role of the medical practitioner in this key public health area should not be underestimated. Special learning needs of medical practitioners to counsel with preventive health foremost on their agenda should be met both at an undergraduate and post-graduate level.
