Summary

Inverted papilloma of the urethra is a rare tumor found in the prostatic urethra. This case report details a successful transurethral resection with an 8-year follow-up, showing no recurrence.

Background:

Inverted papilloma of the urethra is an exceptionally rare tumor.
It typically presents as a sessile growth in the prostatic urethra.

Observation:

This report details a new case in a 52-year-old male.
The tumor was microscopically characterized by transitional epithelium projecting inward.

Findings:

Transurethral resection was performed successfully.
The patient experienced a good outcome with no recurrence or associated urothelial injuries over an 8-year follow-up.

Implications:

This case adds to the limited literature on urethral inverted papilloma.
It highlights transurethral resection as an effective treatment modality.
