The author considers the causes for advent of shoulder dystocia and the complications from it for the mother and the foetus, making due conclusions. For the 6 years period (1985-1990) in the Clinic of Obstetrics & Gynaecology--St. Zagora, are occurred 18,466 deliveries commonly, at 45 of them it is founded shoulder dystocia. From the received results is clear, that, with the growth of the baby's weight increase the percentage of the shoulder dystocia and this difference become appreciable at weight of newborn babies over 4000-4500 g.
