Area of Science:

  • Dermatology
  • Gynecology

Background:

  • Milia are common benign skin cysts, typically appearing on the face.
  • Previous literature has not documented milia exclusively localized to the vulvar region.

Observation:

  • A case study of a 64-year-old female presenting with multiple milia on the vulva.
  • The lesions were clinically diagnosed as milia.

Findings:

  • A comprehensive literature review covering the past 20 years found no reported cases of milia limited to the vulva.
  • This represents a rare clinical presentation of milia.

Implications:

  • This case expands the known clinical spectrum of milia.
  • It underscores the importance of considering milia in the differential diagnosis of vulvar cysts and lesions.
